Couple shots (uh, 6 but who's counting?) from Fuji X-F1 in bracket drive mode 0, +/- 1 stop, combined in Photoshop and tuned in Topaz. Two are also side by side merges. Made on latest cruise on Fascination while in port in Freeport. Dream was both in Nassau and Freeport during a similar time frame.

I worked in public transit for much of my adult life. The two times we've been to the Bahamas, we rode the bus. The system is actually a confederation of private jitneys who run on established routes. The 8 and the 10 depart from George and Bay Streets. We rode the 10 out to Sandy Point and back downtown. I have a couple of observations. The United States, England, and much of Europe are, I guess the first world and places like the Bahamas are closer to third world. I know a lot of people I visited with on cruise ships wouldn't get off the ship to walk around Nassau because they didn't feel safe. The truth, as I observed it, is the U.S. is third world and Nassau is first. Crime is insignificant in the Bahamas. I took some pictures of our jitney driver's operating area. He kept lots of cash, including bills and coins open and in plain sight. They collect a fare AFTER you've completed your ride, not before, based on trust. I know there's more to it than that. Education, health care, transportation, living conditions, etc. But Nassau is safer than most U.S. cities and friendlier too. Just a casual observation.

One outing from a cruise ship when docked in Nassau Harbor is to visit Fort Fincastle. The above shot is the marketplace located just below the water tower. It is also adjacent to the fort. The fort can be reached from Bay Street by walking up Elizabeth Street until you reach the Queen's Steps. Climb the steps and walk to your right and you will see the water tower and the fort. One of my earlier posts of Nassau candids included a shot on the corner of Bay and Queen Elizabeth Streets with a sign pointing the way. I will next post shots of the Queen's Steps.

Fuji X-F1 / Lake Fayetteville bike path pictures

Weather finally improved and I felt obligated to get out and about. The Lake Fayetteville bike path was 100% completed last fall. I had ridden the path in various stages of completeness over the years and looked forward to having the final portion paved. Nothing wrong with single track but this is around a lake through various mud pits. The finished path is the bomb. These were shot from the path with a Fuji X-F1. I actually reached for an old Canon G7 to bring but the battery was 90% gone, so the Fuji made the trip.

The exposure bracket separated the biker into three ghosts.

Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks is on the trail.
