Frank Lloyd Wright / Crystal Bridges / Bachman-Wilson House / Nikon Coolpix A

Went out to Crystal Bridges Saturday last with Jacob and Ruth (wheeling around, see far right in red slicker) to see the museum's latest additions, including the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Bachman-Wilson house, which was moved here, in toto, from Somerset County, New Jersey, where it sat alongside the Millstone River. The house was in jeopardy from the river and the museum purchased it to conserve it. It was completed in November and is now open to the public, with a reservation and ticket. We were a bit late due to heavy rains and flooding from "Goliath" which provided about 10 inches of rain over a three day period and I-49 had a lane closed, trying to open a clogged storm drain. We missed our appointment but went on up and did a self-tour between guided tours. The house was one of 60 or so Usonian (USoniA or USA specific design) design homes built between 1936 and 1959. The Bachman-Wilson was commissioned in 1953, six years before Wright's death in 1959. No photographs are allowed inside so I kept the Brownie in my pocket.

Here's a couple exteior shots of the Crystal Bridge's facility.

Thanks, Alice Walton.

University of Arkansas Twelfth Night / Sony RX100 / SOC / Nov. 22, 2015, 2:00 PM

University of Arkansas Drama Dept. Twelfth Night Production, Nov. 22

Never attended a UARK drama production that wasn't outstanding. Just a couple of shots from our visit on Sunday, including the model used to design the scenery. Great production, as usual.

The Sony RX100 was used in auto HDR mode and produced amazing photographs, given the conditions.

White Rose / Sony A7 / Voigtlander Nokton 50 f1.5 @ f2 / Econo extension tube

The A7 used with legacy lenses, such as Leica M lenses, doesn't do macro without an extension. So here's an econo extension tube near macro shot. Longer tubes allow for really close macro shots. This one basically cuts the focus distance in half, which is handier.
