Fuji X100 / Tree in the mist / HDR

Not a particularly nice day but could be worse. Reorganizing some equipment and set aside the X100. Under the heading, shoot what you have, I went out for a walk and took a few photos in exposure bracket mode (+/- 1 stop of light) and shot some side by sides. I then auto merged to hdr pro in PS 5.1 (what I have), then photo merged the two side by sides and sharpened in up a bit in Topaz. Here's the result. I also monochromed it to see how it looked in B&W.

 

Fuji X100 / Crystal Bridges (legacy shots) / SOOC (save a bit of cropping here and there)

The X100 provided a Leica wanna be camera "for the rest of us" at the end of 2010. It has been improved on with the X100S but new firmware for the X100 introduced about the same time as the X100S made the 100 a better camera and still worthy of anyone who wants to feel like a photographer, doesn't want to mortgage their house and enjoys great color JPGs right out of the camera. I will say RAW preserves highlights that are blown in JPGs but that's infrequently. This is still a great and worthy camera.

Fujifilm X100

Soon Fuji will introduce the X100s. It'll have an upgraded sensor, similar to the X Pro-1 and XE-1. It'll be faster, farther, better, etc. etc. The X100 is being sold used for around 700 and will likely go down. If you want a good camera and can deal with having used, get one. Great sensor, great high iso performance, 35mm f2 excellent lens with creamy bokeh, rangefinder form factor and hybrid optical/electronic finder. Some of these are out of camera jpegs, others hdr processed, etc. The images are easy to work with. This is a legendary camera at really decent prices. If you can find one you can afford, I think you'll love it.
